How to Get Started With Hostinger Hosting to Build Your Website

You can start a blog within minutes and you don’t have to be experienced. This service is perfect for beginners and when you are looking for better website hosting for your WordPress Blog. This service is perfect for anyone who wants to start a blog and build their audience on it, or just simply wants better hosting services for their WordPress Blogs, who don’t have time to deal with the technical side of things.

10 Critical Steps to Follow When Hosting Your Blog With Hostinger

Step 1: Check the Availability of Your Domain Name with the Best Domain Extension

You can use a domain name to help you stand out from the crowd. A website with a .com or .net address is much more obvious than one with a .org, for example. Plus, if a domain is available then other people can buy it, and shoot you down when you ask to purchase it.

If your preferred domain name has already been snapped up by someone else, don’t worry. You can choose the suggested one and if none fits your taste, it might be a good choice to use your name (like I do on this website).

5 Tricks To Choosing the Perfect Domain Name

  • Choose a domain name that is easy to spell

The easier your domain name is to spell, the more traffic you will get from users who accidentally mistype other domains in their browsers. Likewise, if your domain name is hard to spell, you will lose traffic from people who are looking for you but can’t find you because they misspelled your domain name.

  • Choose a .com extension

If possible, always choose a .com extension for your domain name. While there are many other extensions (.net, .info, etc.), “.com” is by far the most recognized and remembered extension on the Internet. When someone hears your website address for the first time, they automatically assume it ends in “.com” unless you tell them otherwise.

  • Short and memorable

Keep it short and easy to remember. People will type it over and over again when referring others or visiting your site themselves. So if visitors have to think twice about how to spell it, you’ve made things too complicated for them. Keep it simple but interesting!

  • Study other popular domains in your niche:

The first step to choosing the perfect domain name is to study other popular domains in your niche. What do they have in common? What do they lack? Do they use keywords and why? Use a free keyword research tool like Google Keyword Planner or WordStream’s Free Keyword Tool to find keywords and phrases related to your business. If you already have a list of possible keywords, you can use that as well. Make sure that one of those words is included in your domain name.

  • Research Keywords and Phrases:

After you have selected a domain name, you will want to research keywords and phrases that are related to your blog’s topic. For example, if you are going to be blogging about cars, then you would want phrases like “new car reviews” or “cheap used cars” in your content so that people who find your blog through Google search can find it easily. This step is important because it will help increase the number of people who visit your site through Google searches and increase your overall traffic on a daily basis. In addition, this step also helps with SEO (Search Engine Optimization) for your blog domain name.

  • Don’t copy or trademark your competitors’ brand name
  • Avoid numbers and hyphens

FAQ

What is a Domain Name?

A domain name is a human-readable address of a website. For example, “domainname.com” is the domain name for this website. A domain name can be made up of any combination of letters and numbers, and it can be used in combination with various domain name extensions, such as .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info, or .io. Domain names are used to identify one or more IP addresses. For example, the domain name microsoft.com represents about a dozen IP addresses. Domain names are used in URLs to identify particular Web pages. For example, in the URL http://www.zakariagithae.com/index.html, the domain name is zakariagithae.com.

Step 2: Sign up with Hostinger/Create an Account

On the Hostinger website, press the Sign Up button in the upper right corner of your screen.

There are two options when you want to sign up/create an account with Hostinger. The first option is signing up with google which is familiar to many of you.

The second option is to fill in your email and create a password you wish to use in your Hostinger account as well as confirm their terms of service (the latter is optional). Confirm your email address by clicking on the confirmation link from the email sent to you.

Step 4: Domain Name Privacy Protection Addon (additional features are optional)

Domain name registration information is public, which means anyone can access the contact details of domain registrants. This is why when you purchase a domain name from a registrar, you will typically be asked if you want to apply for domain privacy protection.

What is Domain Name Privacy Protection?

Domain Name Privacy Protection (also known as WHOIS Privacy or Domain Privacy) is a service offered by domain registrars that conceals the personal details of website owners from being displayed in the WHOIS database. This information includes First and last name, Organization name, Address, Email address, Phone number.

So, if you want to protect your privacy online, you must keep this information private. That’s where domain name privacy protection comes in.

Why do you need Domain Name Privacy Protection?

  • It masks your contact details on the public WHOIS directory.

Once you publish your contact details on the Internet they may be used by spammers to send you unwanted messages and emails. You may also start receiving phone calls from salespeople trying to sell their products or services. Your personal details may also appear in spamming databases around the world which are often used by identity thieves.

  • It hides your personal information from spammers and cybercriminals.

Another reason why you should consider Domain Name Privacy Protection is security. If you have any confidential details such as your address or telephone number published online, it can potentially be used by criminals who wish to obtain access to your home or office premises for illegal purposes. It also prevents them from using your contact details for malicious purposes such as identity theft, phishing scams, extortion, etc.

Hostinger Domain Privacy Addon

Hostinger offers Domain privacy (WHOIS database) protection for $5.88 and your information is protected from the public. You can add the payment after choosing your plan or later when you access the Hostinger Cpannel. WHOIS database protection is also optional to those who have a tight budget. My final thought is if you have the money, then go on and purchase it otherwise it is not something you should be worried about as a beginner.

Step 5: Choose a Payment Method and Pay/Checkout

#Register Your Domain Name #Checkout

Hostinger offers a variety of options for secure payment such as Visa, MasterCard, PayPal, or Discover. They also accept all major credit & debit cards from many countries.

The best option would be using a MasterCard or Visa. If you have a discount code, enter it within the space provided. You can use my link and the coupon will be added automatically for a higher discount or copy and paste it “_”

Confirm your payment plan, and payment details (Check all the details of your order before clicking on the Pay button), and then click pay/checkout.

Congratulation!

Step 7: Proceed To Hostinger Cpanel

After the payment is successful, you are redirected to your Hpannel immediately(If not, click login and fill in details). Within the Hostinger Cpannel, you need to do 4 important things.

  • The first thing you need to do is register your domain name for free (If the option is not available you can consider another or I believe your name is better). Check step 1 for more detail. Then proceed to register my domain.
  • After you get your domain name, the second thing is to delete your public.html file from the Hostinger account.

(in progress)

  • The third thing is activating the SSL certificate
  • The fourth thing is to install WordPress

Step 8: Activate Free SSL Certificate

  • Go to your Hosting panel and click on the Manage button located next to your hosting plan.
  • Scroll down to the Domains section, click on Domain Manager and select the domain you would like to enable SSL for.
  • Under the Domain Tools section in the right panel, scroll down and click on SSL Manager.
  • Now, choose the option Let’s Encrypt SSL Certificate drop-down menu and hit Install.
  • That’s it! You will get a message saying Your new Let’s Encrypt SSL Certificate was successfully installed.
  • The SSL Certificate is installed and HTTPS:// is enforced in your domain name

Example: http://zakariagithae.com to https://zakariagithae.com which means your domain is secure.

NOTE!!! You can enforce the HTTPS:// using a WordPress plugging called “Really Simple SSL” This plugging will enforce HTTPS:// no matter the situation. It’s a good alternative, but with Hostinger it is enforced directly in your Hostinger cpannel.

Why it is Important Activate Free SSL Certificate

  • Security: SSL helps you to protect your visitors’ sensitive information

This is the first reason why you should use SSL. Every transaction that is executed via a website is encrypted. This means that no one can steal any information from the website, provided that the SSL certificate is installed and activated correctly.

  • SSL improves the Trust of visitors and customers

When you have an SSL certificate, the web address starts with /HTTPS/ instead of /HTTP/. The “s” indicates that the website has a valid and active security certificate, which means that it is safe to use and visitors are safe to navigate your website.

  • SEO: SSL promotes better search rankings in Google

SSL certificates help with SEO. Google gives more importance to websites that use SSL certificates. This means that your page will rank higher in search results if you have an SSL certificate.

  • SSL gives you a competitive advantage
  • SSL improves the performance of your website (in some cases)
  • SSL makes you PCI compliant
  • SSL is becoming more important in e-commerce every year
  • SSL protects your users from phishing and malware sites
  • SSL prevents unwanted ads and popups (in some cases)
  • SSL can save you money (in some cases)

Step 9: Installing WordPress

WordPress is the most popular website builder in the world. It is estimated that over 30% of all websites are powered by WordPress.

One of the reasons why so many people use WordPress is its easy-to-use interface and thousands of ready-made templates. With WordPress, you don’t need to be a professional web designer or developer to create a great-looking website.

If you have a Hostinger account, installing WordPress has never been easier with our 1-click installation tool Softaculous. You can install it in less than 5 minutes for free! You have to follow these steps:

  • Click on the Auto-Install Now button
  • Fill in all essential installation data, like domain name, site name, description, admin account details, etc.
  • Click Install at the bottom of the Installation form to start the installation process.
  • Log in to your WordPress dashboard and Customize your WordPress website

Step 10: Create your Blog: Happy Blogging

Congratulations! You can now create a blog within WordPress with the domain name you just registered. All I wish You is Happy Blogging and Success.

The Most Common Types Of Web Hosts

There are three main types of web hosts:

1. Shared Hosting

Shared Hosting is one of the most popular hosting types. It allows many websites to be hosted on a single server. This type of hosting is suitable for those who are in need of just creating a website and those with less traffic.

The Benefits of Shared Hosting (Pros)

  • Affordable price
  • Simple to use
  • Many useful features
  • Easy-to-use control panel for managing accounts and files

The Cons of Shared Hosting

  • Performance Issues
  • Limited Scalability/Resource limitations: The host sets limits on the amount of CPU time and memory each account can use before they shut down or suspend your site
  • Poor Customer Support
  • Security vulnerabilities: Your site is hosted alongside many others on the same server. Many users use weak passwords, which are easily hacked by intruders. Once a hacker gains access to one account on a server, it is easy for them to spread to other sites on the same server.
  • Software restrictions: You are limited to using only those software packages that are installed on the server.

2. VPS (Virtual Private Server) Hosting

A VPS (virtual private server) gives you more speed and power than shared hosting, but without the cost of leasing your own server.

If you need a lot more power, flexibility, and control than shared hosting can offer, but aren’t quite ready for dedicated hosting, VPS (virtual private server) hosting may be the right solution for your e-commerce business.

Before deciding to switch to a VPS host, there are a few questions you’ll want to answer: How much traffic does your store generate? Do you expect that to increase or decrease in the near future? What features do you need that you can’t get from your current host? Answering basic questions like these will help you discover whether a VPS is right for you.

The Benefits of Virtual Private Server (VPS) Hosting (Pros)

  • Cost-effective (cheaper than a dedicated server)
  • If a website grows, it can easily migrate to a VPS hosting plan by just paying the difference in amount.
  • VPS hosting is customizable and users can easily install or remove any application or program as per their requirements.
  • Since websites are hosted separately on virtual partitions, no other website on the physical web server can access your data. Hence, it assures better security.
  • VPS hosting provides more control to users as compared to shared hosting plans. Users get root access and they can control their hosting environment as per their requirements and preference.

Cons:

  • Normally, there are setup fees for VPS hosting that are not required for shared hosting plans.
  • There is no cPanel in VPS hosting, so users have to be familiar with SSH commands to install or manage applications on the server and they need technical knowledge for using the VPS server efficiently.
  • With a VPS, your website is still on the same server as other websites, which means that security breaches and malware attacks can still affect your website. Even though your ‘neighbor’ sites are in separate containers, they are still on the same server.
  • It is more expensive than a shared hosting plan. With a VPS, you have dedicated resources that are not shared with other users. This means that the cost of the server is higher than of a shared account.
  • If there are problems with the server, it can affect all websites on the server regardless of whether they are in a container or not.

FAQ:

What Is VPS Hosting?

Virtual Private Server (VPS) hosting is a virtualized server. A VPS hosting environment mimics a dedicated server within a shared hosting environment. It is technically both shared hosting and dedicated hosting.

3. Dedicated Hosting

Dedicated hosting means that you lease an entire server and that server is not shared with anyone. This will give you the ability to do whatever you want with it, such as setting up any software or application that you want. However, this will also mean that you have to take care of everything yourself, such as maintenance and security.

Why Should You Consider Having A Dedicated Hosting?

There are many benefits to using dedicated hosting for your website. Here are some of them:

Pros
  • You will have full control of the server
  • Good Customization
  • Advanced Security
  • Good Support
  • Scalability
Cons
  • It can be expensive.
  • It’s not easy to switch.
  • It’s not for everyone.
  • It may require a large IT team.
  • Hardware Limitations
  • Security Concerns
  • You’re alone on an island with no help from your host, unless you pay extra for support, which some hosts offer as an add-on service.

FAQ QUESTIONS

What is a Blog?

A blog is a type of website that focuses mainly on written content, also known as blog posts. In popular culture, we most often hear about news blogs or celebrity blog sites, but as you’ll see in this guide, you can start a successful blog on just about any topic imaginable.

Professionally. A blog (a truncation of “weblog”) is a discussion or informational website published on the World Wide Web consisting of discrete, often informal diary-style text entries (posts). Posts are typically displayed in reverse chronological order, so that the most recent post appears first, at the top of the web page.

Blogs are professional and personal. Some blogs reflect the personality of the blogger while others function as more of a diary. Blogs can be public or private and are often used for marketing purposes.

Why start a blog?

Blogs are great for business, or just to express yourself creatively. You can share your thoughts, knowledge, and expertise with a wide audience of readers around the world, who may have similar interests to you. Blogging allows people to connect with new audiences and build relationships with their readers.

  • Free Domain Name on buying any hosting
  • Free Email Accounts on buying any hosting
  • Free SSL Certificate (HTTPS) on buying any hosting

What is web hosting?

Web hosting is the service that makes your website available to be viewed by others on the internet. Websites are hosted or stored, on special computers called servers. When Internet users want to view your website, all they need to do is type your website address into their browser. Their computer will then connect to your server and your webpages will be delivered to them through the browser.

Do you have to pay for web hosting?

The answer is yes, you do have to pay for web hosting. While there are some free hosting services out there, you’re not going to get the kind of reliability and uptime that paid hosting services can offer. Web hosting is a very important part of your website. It’s where all your files and databases will be stored.

In order to create and run a website, you need three things: a domain name, web hosting, and a developed website. The domain name is the address people type in their browser to visit your site (like zakariagithae.com). Think of web hosting as the house where your website files live.

If you want to make a website and don’t want to pay for web hosting, you can create a free blog on Blogger or WordPress.com, but keep in mind that these have limitations and disadvantages.

Can You Host a Website by Yourself?

Yes. You can host a website by yourself!

Many people wonder if it’s possible to host their website on their own computer. It is possible, and you can do it with either a Windows or a Mac computer.

By hosting your website on your own computer, you are in complete control of your website. You have the ability to add custom features, use any scripts you like, and do anything else imaginable.

It is also a very economical option, as there are no monthly fees. You only pay for the cost of the server software, which is typically a one-time fee.

The downside to this method is that there is a lot more work involved than subscribing to a traditional web hosting service. That is why most people choose to host their websites with a professional web host instead.

Can You Host a Website for Free?

Yes, However, Free Hosting Services Are Inflexible!

Free blog hosting services are inflexible because they provide limited features and functionality. Some don’t allow you to have ads on your website to generate revenue. Others limit the number of articles you can write.

If you’re looking for a free web hosting service for your business, you’re probably better off using an inexpensive shared server or a VPS instead of a free service. This way, you’ll get more control over your site design and content, as well as increased flexibility in terms of monetization and promotion options. You can switch to a paid plan later if it makes sense for your business goals.

How Much Does a Beginner need to Host a Website?

Web hosting is the central foundation of any website, which is why choosing a web host is so important. A good web host ensures your website remains available at all times so that visitors can access your site whenever they want to.

If you are a beginner, you can have your first website online without spending a lot of money.

Hostinger offers shared hosting plans that are ideal for beginners, but also provide the tools and performance needed by professionals.

The three affordable shared hosting plans offered by Hostinger are Single, Premium and Business.

See the differences between these plans in the table below:

image…

The most basic plan of Hostinger provides you with all of the essentials needed to start your own website. For only $1.99/month, you get:

  • 1 Website
  • 10 GB Disk Space
  • 100 GB Bandwidth
  • 1 MySQL Database
  • Free Domain Name (with Premium and Business plans)

What do the Suffix com, net, org, edu, gov… mean?

Every domain name has a suffix that indicates which top-level domain (TLD) it belongs to. There are only a limited number of such domains. For example:

  • com – commercial business
  • net – Network organizations
  • org – Organizations (nonprofit)
  • edu – educational institutions
  • gov – Government agencies

Conclusion

I hope that you’ll find my advice trustworthy and of practical use. So, to summarize, we strongly believe that Hostinger is a great hosting company that can be counted on in terms of server stability and speed. It will provide the blog with additional tools and resources. Plus, with the help of Hostinger blog design, it’s going to be quick and easy to set up a new website or start a new blog.

Their services will keep on running smoothly, so you can be sure that your blog will be online all the time. The speed of the site is important. If the site you choose is slow, readers may lose interest and leave. It would be best to select a site with a quick provider like Hostinger that has solid backing and good speeds.
